Independent Member - Audit and Risk Management Committee

Council is currently seeking nominations by expression of interest to fill one of the Independent Member positions on its Audit and Risk Management Committee.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person who has the relevant skills, experience and desire to undertake a challenging but fulfilling role.

Role Overview:

•  Provide independent assurance and assistance to Council in areas such as financial reporting, internal and external audit, risk management and other internal control and compliance frameworks.
•  3-year appointment, with an opportunity to extend for an additional 3 years subject to performance review.
•  Quarterly meetings (minimum)

Eligibility Requirements:

•  Must be independent from Council. Former employees and Councillors are not eligible to apply (5-year exclusion period applies).
•  Must have experience in financial management, corporate governance and strategy, risk management, internal and external auditing, legal and regulatory compliance and local government.

Remuneration:

•  Per meeting (excluding GST), inclusive of travel and preparation.
