Tender Details
Tender Description
Project goals
The Geological Survey of NSW seeks wet hire of a workover rig for a project consisting of well completion, flow testing, plug and abandonment and site rehabilitation of 3 existing wells in the Darling Basin.
The services required include wet hire of a workover rig, including provision of all equipment, material and personnel to provide workover rig services. The procurement also includes options to provide additional services including cementing, slickline and/or a camp to accommodate project personnel.
The project aims to better understand the regional geology and reservoir characteristics of certain formations in the Pondie Range and Yathong Troughs of the Darling Basin, by addressing key knowledge gaps in geological structure, stratigraphy, reservoir properties, and hydrogeology. This work will provide valuable data for the Geological Survey of NSW to refine geological models and inform future resource assessments and other studies.
The project will consist of three main activities:
- Well completion and flow testing, inclusive of cased hole wireline logging, of up to three existing wells, to gather Cement Bond Logging (CBL), temperature, flow rate, permeability, pressure and fluid property data.
- Well plug and abandonment of three wells, in accordance with industry best practice and relevant NSW Exploration Codes of Practice.
- Well site rehabilitation of three well sites, in accordance with land access agreements and relevant NSW Exploration Codes of Practice.
Scope
Proposals to commence the work at any time from 1 October 2025 until 30 April 2026 will be accepted. Both 12-hour and 24-hour operations will be considered.
Final program scope is to be finalised, so there are three operational scenarios that may eventuate, and Suppliers should factor into their commercial proposals as relevant.
The completions program involves running completions to depths of 790 m to 2,000 m. The work is estimated to take approximately 28 days total for all three wells to be completed. This comprises 7 days per well operations time, time for two inter-well moves, initial campaign mobilisation and end of campaign demobilisation.
Please note that this 28-day campaign assumes 24-hour operations and will be longer in the case of 12-hour operations. The total campaign length will also depend on the number of wells in which completions are installed.
Supplier is to provide all equipment, materials and personnel for the provision of Workover Rig Services required to complete the wells with a design and operational plan as detailed in the Technical Scope. A 'mini camp' (offices for rig and services crew, smoke/break shed and toilet facilities) on location must also be included as a part of the rig.
The supplier is invited to provide a fully equipped main camp to accommodate rig and camp crew and up to fifteen (15) third-party personnel.
Optionally, the supplier may also provide quotation for the provision of cementing, slickline and tubular running/installation services.
