The Australian National University is issuing this Request for Tender in order to seek tenders for the Residential Experience Division, Mattress Replacement Program in accordance with the requirements specified in this RFT.

The Australian National University has 15 purpose-built student accommodation buildings on its Acton, ACT Campus. To ensure we provide the highest level of Student Experience in line with industry standard we replace the mattresses in resident bedrooms every 5 years approx. or when they reach end of life.

This amounts to 5500 to 6000 mattresses being purchased, installed and recycled over a 5-year cycle as a guide. The Residential Experience Division (RED) on behalf of the University has identified the requirement for the RED Mattress Replacement Program as a procurement activity to ensure that Student Experience standard occurs at the best value for money for the University.

The University requires the services of a suitably skilled, experienced and qualified service provider for the University:

• To supply approximately 5500-6000 mattresses over the course of a 5-year period according to the mattress replacement schedule.
• To deliver mattresses to the specific residences during agreed low vacancy/empty periods of occupancy at the pre-agreed period (normally November-January).
• Take new mattresses to rooms, unpack, place on beds and remove old mattress and packaging.
• Recycle packaging and old mattresses, wherever possible rehoming old mattresses or recycling through accredited schemes.
• Provide an agreed overflow stock (1%) for replacement mattresses where repairs to mattresses are required within the warranty period.
