CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS

This specification is to be read in conjunction with the attached Certificate of Design Compliance, final workings drawings, builder's specifications, and any technical certificates (structural engineers' drawings). Under the requirements of the Building Act 2011 and Building Regulations 2012, this specification provides compliance with the National Construction Code 2022 Volume One Amdt 1 and referenced Australian Standards. 1. BUILDING CHARACTERISTICS

Building Description: Apprentice Plumbers open sided training structure

Building Classification: 9b

Type of Construction: C

• All works shall be in compliance with the Building Code of Australia Volume One as amended (BCA), the Australian Standards as amended (AS) and referenced in the BCA, the Western Australian Building Act 2011 and the Building Regulations’ 2012.

• Earthworks shall include the removal of all organic material from the pad area, remove all rubbish and deleterious fill, grub out any trees where necessary and ensure the remaining holes are filled and compacted.

• Sand fill to be clean well drained and to be compacted to a minimum 7 blows/300mm the depth of the pad.

• Compaction test to be carried out prior to construction commencing.

• Storm water drainage for the proposed to be in accordance with AS/NZS 3500.3 & contained on site.

• Termite management to be in accordance with AS 3660.1-2014

• Concrete in accordance with AS 3600 – 2009

• Footing & Slab Construction to be in accordance with AS 2870

• Masonry to be built in accordance with AS 4773 or AS 3700

• Timber Framing in accordance with AS 1684

• Steel structure in accordance with AS 4100 – 1998

• Steel construction- steel components exposed to the elements shall be treated in accordance with the Building Code of Australia to the minimum requirements of Australian Standard 1650

• Sheet roof cladding on accordance with AS1562 - 1992

• Portable fire extinguishers to be installed in accordance with AS 2444 – 2001. In accordance with Part E1.9 of the National Construction Code, not less than one fire extinguisher to suit Class A, B and E fires.
