Head Design Consultant - Mandible Street Sports Precinct

The Council of the City of Sydney ("the City") invites Expressions of Interest for the carrying out Head Design Consultancy Services for the Mandible Street Sports Precinct, Alexandria in accordance with this request.

The Mandible Street Sports Precinct will be a new sporting facility near the Green Square Town Centre and Alexandria North Enterprise area. Four industrial sites will be redeveloped to create a new sport precinct to service the growing residential population, surrounding schools and the wider community.

The sports precinct will cater for local community competition sports, and recreation such as play and skate spaces. Drawing on the industrial fabric of previous site uses, the canals and surrounding street networks will form interest and provide opportunities for re-use and establishing character.

The City is seeking to engage a suitably qualified Head Design Consultant team with proven experience delivering simple, robust, high quality and sustainable public spaces. The Head Design Consultant will undertake the necessary services and deliverables to provide the following:

• Comprehensive site planning and design
• Sportsfield
• Courts
• New amenities buildings
• Playground
• Civil and stormwater (flood management and new supporting services)

This Expression of Interest process will be used to shortlist respondents to participate in a selective tender.
