Solar Panels: Design, Supply and Install - Tauhara College AT Block

This Request for Tenders (RFT) invites suitably qualified contractors to submit a Tender for the design, supply, and installation of solar panels at Tauhara College (the School).

Tauhara College is constructing a new Administration and Teaching Block (AT Block) as part of its Stage 1B redevelopment. Construction commenced on 28 April 2025, with practical completion anticipated by 4 June 2026.

In parallel with this development, the School intends to procure an independent contractor to design, supply, and install solar panels on the roof of the AT Block under a separate contract. Installation works will take place while the main construction is ongoing; therefore, coordination with the Main Contractor is essential.

The Tenderer must comply with the Main Contractor’s health and safety requirements, along with the Ministry of Education’s guidelines.

The new development is targeting a 5-star Greenstar certification, and the PV panels will contribute to this. The Tenderer is required to support the project by meeting the requirements outlined in Greenstar Specification document (see section 1.4(c) of this RFT).

The Greenstar credits targeted are:

a. Credit 29.1-Innovative Technology or Process

b. Credit 15.2 – Greenhouse Gas Emissions

c. Credit 16(b) – Peak Energy Demand Reduction

Tauhara College is located at Invergarry Road, Tauhara, Taupō 3330. A Site Plan is included in the appendix, indicating the site boundary, access and egress points, and an overview of the traffic management arrangements for the AT Block construction works.
