REGISTRATION OF INTEREST (ROI) - Main Construction Contractor for the Blks 2, 3: New Classroom, Admin & Bathroom Alterations at Whangarei Heads School

The outcome sought by the procurement is the securing of the services of a suitably qualified and experienced main contractor to undertake the proposed Block 2, 3: New Classroom, Admin & Bathroom Alterations at Whangarei Heads School.

The existing Block 2 and 3a buildings are no longer fit for purpose and are significantly deteriorated with a number of weather-tightness and infrastructure issues. The main block 2 building was one of the first buildings constructed ion the school site (circa 1930s), with later additions including the admin area extension (circa 1980/90s) and blk 3a addition (circa 2002) to the original building. The nature of the proposed scope of works generally includes the refurbishment and redevelopment of the existing Block 2 Admin and Classroom building, demolition of the Blk 3A addition, and associated site works.

The general size /scale of the proposed works includes:

- circa 140m2 demolition area of the existing buildings (blk 3 and blk 2 additions)

- circa 130m2 refurbishment area of the original Blk 2 building

- circa 280m2 new building area including the new student bathroom and admin wing additions.
