Council invites tender submissions for the provision of Flexilink trial public transport services within designated locations of the Local Government Area

This Contract is structured into two (2) Separable Portions.

Separable Portion 1 – Conondale to Maleny (via Witta)

This Flexilink service enables patrons to connect with the existing scheduled public transport services in Maleny and can operate up to four (4) times a day, Monday to Friday and three (3) times per day on Saturday and Public Holidays, depending on bookings. Currently this service carries an average of 319 passengers per month, with an average of 133 booked services per month.

Separable Portion 2 – Peachester to Beerwah

This Flexilink service enables patrons to connect with the existing scheduled public transport services in Beerwah and can operate up to three (3) times a day, Monday to Saturday, and Public Holidays, depending on bookings. Currently this service carries an average of 68 passengers per month, with an average of 47 booked services per month.

This is a Schedule of Rates contract, and services will commence on 1 October 2025.

The initial term for both Separable Portions will be for a period of 9 months, with the option to extend for four (4) further 12 month terms at Councils sole discretion.

All services operate along designated routes which have been designed to maximise patronage. The Terminus points are at designated locations. Passengers are picked up / dropped off at Terminus points along the Flexilink route.

Each route is subject to change by Council throughout the life of the contract. Routes may be changed to allow for increased efficiency and/or changes to connecting public transport schedules.

The successful Contractor will have the relevant management experience and required systems and resources to provide these Flexilink services.

The Contractor shall hold a current Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads “Scheduled Services Operator Accreditation” and appropriate licences for the duration of the contract.
