Tender Description

This Tender is invited by the Issuer.

The National Messaging System (NMS) project is seeking the professional services of an APS5/6 ICT Project Support Officer who be accountable for providing professional and timely support to the development and implementation of the NMS.

Under direction of the Assistant Director and Director, the role will be responsible for researching, analysing and providing specialist advice relating to the program delivery related Section, Branch and organisational priorities.

The Project Support Officer will contribute to the coordination and delivery of project and policy development, and assist with the development of a range of projects to support the design and development of complex policy initiatives and reforms that supports the NMS.

At times, the Project Support Officer may be required to assist in other functions delivered by the Section and may be required to work outside of standard business hours, in support of EMR operational priorities.

The Project Support Officer must have Key knowledge, skills or experience across ICT project delivery, policy and stakeholder engagement.

Indicative duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the delivery of key elements of the project’s initiatives and producing advice on project delivery matters.
  • Contribute to and provide specialist advice on project analysis, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, including research of project and policy issues and risks.
  • Supporting campaigns of activity across communications, policy, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Coordinate and contribute to stakeholder engagement and consultation, including provision of secretariat support for intergovernmental and industry forums
  • Co-ordination of engagement and communications with Australian, state and territory government officials, and government representatives via formal channels such as database maintenance, program meetings, steering groups, meetings, events.
  • As directed, prepare written material such as briefs, correspondence and policy and providing quality assurance to the NMS project.
  • Reporting and escalating issues that may impact delivery of a project.
  • Program governance support including the provision of regular reports against quality and assurance measures, including maintaining accurate records of policy advice and decisions
  • Other duties as required to support the project.
