ABOUT THE CITY OF LAKE MACQUARIE: Lake Macquarie is the Hunter Region's largest city, accounting for 35% of the Lower Hunter population. With the city's current population fast approaching 217,000 Lake Macquarie is also the third largest regional city in New South Wales by population. Moreover, the city's population is expected to grow by 39,000 by 2041, creating a demand for 12,000 new dwellings and associated infrastructure.
ABOUT THE REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI): On 27 November 2024 Council's Administration Building was the target of an arson attack. Council has made an insurance claim in respect of the loss and damage sustained by Council through JLT Risk Solutions (JLT) (who administers the Statewide Mutual Property Scheme on behalf of Member Councils). That Scheme is reinsured by FM Global and other interested insurers (Insurers). Since the arson attack Council, JLT, Insurers, Loss Adjusters and other various consultants and contractors have been working through the Stage 1-Make Safe Works and those works are ongoing. The Stage 1 Works are to ensure the Site is safe to commence the Stage 2 Reinstatement Works and to prepare a Scope of Works for the contractor proposed to be engaged to undertake those Stage 2 Works.
In respect of those Stage 2 Works Council invites Expressions of Interest from capable contractors who have the relevant skills and experience associated with the delivery of large-scale commercial / reconstruction of fire damaged / construction projects which are the subject of an insurance claim for the reinstatement and fit out of the Council owned and operated Administration Building located at 126-138 Main Road Speers Point NSW 2284.
After assessment of the Request for Expressions of Interest, it is Council's intent to shortlist Respondents, to a minimum of three, with a preferred target of five, with a view to invite shortlisted Respondents to a Selective Tender for the works.
Any entity capable of performing or providing the required works and services and willing to comply with the Conditions of the Request for Expression of Interest is invited to submit a response to Council by the Closing Date and Time.
REGISTRATION: EOI documents may be obtained by registering on the e-tendering portal.
ENQUIRIES: Enquiries should be directed to Sasha Buckley, the procurement representative via the online forum. Completed responses must be submitted via the electronic tender box.
RESPONDENTS TO NOTE: In the preparation and submission of this Request for EOI and without limiting the respondents obligations, the respondent shall submit an EOI which includes all Returnable Schedules completely filled in and signed, together with any other documents, information and details necessary to make the EOI complete. The Respondent shall not submit an EOI response without a firm intention to proceed nor engage in any form of collusive practice, nor directly or indirectly canvass support from an elected member or employee of Council at any time.
