Kyogle Council is seeking the services of a suitably qualified and experienced Environmental/ Ecological Consultant to develop a Vegetation Management Plan (VMP) for Council-owned and managed lands within the Kyogle Local Government Area (LGA).

The consultant is to:

1. Prepare a VMP and associated GIS mapping for Council-owned and managed lands that assesses the condition of these lands in terms of the presence and impact of exotic weeds, the presence of important native vegetation communities, and any impacts and threats to these land parcels and important vegetation communities. More specifically, the VMP and associated GIS mapping is to identify:

   i. invasive weeds and management actions required

   ii. remnant/important native vegetation communities and actions for its retention and, if required, rehabilitation

   iii. impacts and threats to these lands and to the important vegetation communities

   iv. areas where natural regeneration and revegetation is required - including recommendations for suitable revegetation species

   v. follow-up maintenance and management actions, and

   vi. monitoring and reporting actions.

   There will be a requirement to undertake some level of ground truthing of these lands and existing vegetation mapping to assist with identifying management actions.

2. Prepare a draft VMP and associated GIS mapping for review by Kyogle Council and DCCEEW by 1 May 2026.

3. Following consideration of comments provided by both Kyogle Council and DCCEEW, finalise the VMP and associated GIS mapping and provide the final versions (including any supporting documentation) to Kyogle Council by 30 June 2026.
