Tender Description
Project goals
Quality and Standards: The tender process will standardise the quality and appearance of judicial robes for all judicial officers in NSW.
Cost effectiveness: In addition to standardising the quality and appearance of judicial robes the proposed procurement process also aims to reduce the cost per robe by acquiring them in bulk.
Single procurement arrangement. The proposed tender process will apply to both the Local and District courts as a single procurement arrangement.
Scope
- The supplier must have the capability to produce & deliver 210 Local Court Magistrate robes in bulk.
- The robes should be made from high-quality, breathable fabric that is comfortable for extended wear & suitable for warmer climates.
- The robes should have a straight neck design (where tie cannot be seen), traditional design with a front zipper. The design should be consistent with the judiciary's standards.
- The robes should include additional reinforcement around the midsection to prevent wear & tear, as this area is prone to increased friction from contact with the bench.
- The standard colour for the robes is black with ochre coloured trim.
- The supplier must provide a range of standard sizes (S, M, L) to accommodate all members of the judiciary (personal fittings aren't required for Local Court)
- Detailed proposal including material samples, design specifications, pricing, production & delivery timeline, & references.
- Given the current arrangements for District Court Judges to have in person robe fittings, the supplier will need to be based in Sydney NSW or have the ability for a tailor to travel to meet with a District Court Judge at a suitable place in Sydney as their robes are tailor made. In contrast, the Local Court Judges’ will have a choice of sizes (S/M/L). (District Court not included in bulk purchase)
- Desirables-Options for customisation should be avaliable. Sustainable options, recycled, fair trade, vegan material options, indigenous supplies, incorporating indigenous print.
