Call for artists: bring the east coast’s stories to life through public art

TasWater is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from Tasmanian artists—either from the east coast region or with a strong personal connection to it—for an inspiring new mural project celebrating the local community.

This project will see 15 sewage pump station (SPS) switchboards transformed into striking public artworks along the coastline between Orford and St Helens. These murals will reflect the east coast’s unique history, culture, and natural beauty, helping to strengthen community connections.

The project is divided into three sections, with one artist selected for each.

Artwork installation is scheduled to commence in October 2025.

Expressions of Interest open from Tuesday 13 May to Monday 2 June.
