South Burnett Regional Council is seeking quotations for the sale and removal of the Boondooma Bunkhouse and Recreation building located at the Boondooma Dam Caravan and Recreation Park.

The Bunkhouse was utilised as accommodation during the construction of the Dam from 1980 to 1983. In 2021 Council moved the building from the Lookout to its current location and has undertaken renovations to update to a standard for short term accommodation.

Council has assessed the current and future accommodation requirements of the Park and seeks to change the type of accommodation offered in this site from "bunkhouse" accommodation to individual cabins or up-market powered caravan ensuite sites.

Both buildings can be repurposed and provide accommodation and a communal recreation and cooking facility for a not-for-profit or private tenderer.

The successful tenderer will have made the appropriate investigations and evaluation of the building and regulatory requirements to remove and relocate the buildings.
