Contractors are invited to submit their company profiles to Metropolitan Memorial Parks to undertake civil works in cemeteries in the Sydney & Hunter regions.

Project goals

Metropolitan Memorial Parks are the Crown Land manager for Cemeteries who undertake works for the development of burial and ash interment plots at:

• Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park
• Field of Mars Cemetery
• Frenchs Forest Bushland Cemetery
• Gore Hill Cemetery
• Macquarie Park Cemetery & Crematorium
• Rookwood General Cemetery
• Sandgate Cemetery (Newcastle)
• Woronora Memorial Park

Scope

Projects generally consist of the construction of grave beams, pathways and roads, drainage, retaining walls, and subsoil drainage, landscaping work,as well as pathway and road repairs

Additional details/instructions

Contractors must be aware of the sensitivities when working in a cemetery, including on-site behaviour, dealing with grieving people, and must be prepared to stand down when working near a funeral service.

Whilst works involve working around existing graves, they do not include grave digging or exhumations.
