Project Scope Statement

To complete the detailed design and issue for construction documentation for the widening and upgrade of Yalwal Road, from Albatross Road to west of Flatrock Creek bridge, including the upgrade of Filter Road intersection as a short channelised right turn intersection.

Project Objective

The overall objective of this project is to provide a safe, robust road which will cater for the future increase in traffic.

Key Project Constraints

The following are project constraints which the project is to match into:

▪ Detailed design of the roundabouts

▪ Detailed design of George Evans Road intersection

Detailed design to extend kerb and gutter further into intersection with Albatross Road.

Future Albatross intersection works will demolish and re-work as needed.

Detailed design to extend kerb and gutter into intersection, demolish existing dish drain, and design new dish drain. Include new AC pavement for intersection.

Detailed design to straighten kerb and gutter and relocate powerpole.

Detailed design to include a short channelised right turn (CHRS) for the Filter Road intersection.

Detailed design to include kerb and gutter on Filter Road from Yalwal Road to existing kerb and gutter located on Filter Road. Allowance is to be made for the existing bus stop adjacent to the bus shelter (strengthening dish drain / kerb and gutter and provision of pavement).
