Council employs a workforce to construct and maintain public infrastructure such as roads, drainage, water, sewerage, parks, reserves, bridges etc.

In carrying out their responsibilities Council’s workforce may require the assistance of Contractors in the business of offering Watercarts for hire on an hourly basis.

To assist specific Council Employees engage appropriate, registered, insured, well maintained Watercarts with competent, safety conscience drivers Council compiles a list of approved Contractors for hire on an hourly basis, via an open tendering process.

This contract provides for the hire of Watercarts with driver, to transport water from sources approved by an Authorised Council Employee to Council worksites or other locations as required. Payments shall be made to the Contractor for hourly work for the time engaged in cartage and spraying of water, starting from the time of collection of the first load, until the time of completion of the final load, and including all time spent around the worksite as directed by Council. No payment will be made for travelling to or from worksites.

The intention of the contract is that all complying tenders will be accepted, and Contractors will be ranked in accordance with their tendered price and/or the type and/or capacity of the Watercart tendered. Council may decline to accept a tender from a Contractor if the Contractor’s past performance is not considered up to the standard required by Council to perform work under this contract.

This is a Work as Ordered contract, with method of payment being Schedule of rates.

The contract is for a 12 months period from 1 July 2025 until 30 June 2026 with the potential for extension for a further 24 month period. Please refer to full tender documents for specifications
