Tender Description
Corrective Services Industries (CSI) invites open tender responses to supply grocery and activity items for CSNSW Inmate Buy Ups, ensuring competitive pricing, reliable service, and operational value.
Project goals
Corrective Services Industries (CSI) is inviting market responses that offer competitive pricing while ensuring value for money and maintaining the quality, reliability, and service standards needed to support its operations. CSI seeks suppliers capable of delivering cost-effective solutions that align with the organisation’s current and future requirements.
The goal of this procurement is to engage one or more providers who can consistently meet the needs of Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) for the supply of approved grocery and activity items. The project aims to ensure that all items supplied to inmates are delivered securely, reliably, and on time. A core objective is to achieve value for money without compromising on quality. Suppliers must adhere to strict compliance and security standards, supporting the operational integrity of the Inmate Buy Ups program.
Scope
The Inmate Buy Ups Service is a self-sufficiency initiative delivered to 32 correctional centres across New South Wales. It enables inmates to purchase a range of approved grocery & activity items using funds earned through their participation in correctional work programs or deposited into their accounts by family and friends.
To support the efficient & consistent delivery of the service, CSI operates four located distribution hubs & two in-house packaging units across NSW. A new distribution hub is currently being established at Junee Correctional Centre to meet rising demand & further enhance service efficiency. Regular deliveries are made to the following facilities: Bathurst, Dillwynia, John Morony, Mid North Coast, Shortland, & the new Junee hub once operational.
The Buy Ups List is divided into two main categories, Grocery & Activity, each with several subcategories. Grocery items include canned meat & vegetables, cereal, confectionery, grains, imported products, protein supplements, sauces & spreads, snacks, soft drinks, tea & coffee related items. Activity items include clothing, cosmetics, cultural products, general products, electrical products, health products, toiletries & hygiene products, & stationery.
Suppliers interested in participating are required to meeting the minimum supply requirements outlined for each relevant subcategory, as detailed in the pricing guidelines section of the RFx package.
