RFI - National Animal Identification and Tracing (NAIT) System Replacement
Tender ID: 585628
Tender Details
Tender Description
OSPRI is seeking to replace the current NAIT system with a modern fit-for-purpose technology solution capable of supporting NAIT legislative requirements while also providing an efficient interface for a wide range of user groups including farmers, meat processors, stockyards, animal importers/exporters and OSPRI business units.
Along with the technology solution we're seeking to identify a suitably qualified and experienced service provider to:
- Implement the replacement NAIT solution
- Support and maintain the new solution
- Deliver enhancements to the new solution as part of the NAIT programme enhancement roadmap.
The purpose of this RFI is to gather information from the market to support our understanding of:
- Appropriate technology approaches for replacing the current NAIT solution while also delivering known future state requirements.
- Suitably qualified and experienced service providers with whom we would like to engage further in our procurement process.
- Indicative costs for the delivery of similar or comparable technology solutions.
The NAIT scheme links people, locations and livestock. It is prescribed by the National Animal Identification and Tracing Act 2012 ("NAIT Act") and therefore is a regulatory system in New Zealand.
Farmers and livestock owners use the NAIT online information system to record information about animals and their movements. This information can be used to manage, contain and recover quickly from a disease outbreak.
