This procurement relates to Tīrewa Mātai – the first national monitoring system specifically designed for those learning through Te Reo Māori. Monitoring the progress of mokopuna across Aotearoa is fundamental to improving our understanding of the effectiveness, equity, and accountability of the education system as it relates to learner outcomes.
Tīrewa Mātai will show progress, achievement, and successes of mokopuna measured against the expectations of the updated Te Marautanga o Aotearoa and provide valuable insights which we can use to strengthen the education system. That includes informing future curriculum design, policy decisions, and the development of resources and supports for mokopuna, whānau, kaiako, kura, and leaders.
