The University requires a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer coupled with an HPLC liquid chromatography system, an LC-QQQ-MS. It is expected that the instrument be robust and tolerate a high level of usage.

The new instrument will have multiple ion source options, is expected to have excellent sensitivity, and have the ability to select for desired ions and be operated in a number of scan modes, maximising the possible analysis applications. The HPLC unit should have expected features including high pressure limits and a refrigerated autosampler that has high capacity, allowing for high throughput analyses. The instrument should have intuitive software for method development, operation and data analysis.
