Hunter Water continues to invest in cyber security to ensure adequate security controls are in place in the medium to long term to protect Hunter Water's systems and services from emerging cyber security threats and vulnerabilities. In doing so the program aims to safeguard customer privacy, comply with relevant cyber security regulations, and strengthen information security practices.

Implementation of the Cyber Security Program will allow Hunter Water to remain within its risk appetite for cyber security while uplifting the organisation's overall security posture across Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) environments. It also ensures Hunter Water maintains its ISMS (Information Security Management System) certification and complies with relevant legislation.

Current focus areas of the Cyber Security team include:

• Design and implementation of cyber software solutions protecting approximately 1000 users and endpoints alongside Server and cloud workloads.
•  Maturing Security operations processes to achieve target state cyber capabilities.
•  Governance, Risk and Compliance activities including internal audit, to support Government and Critical Infrastructure regulatory landscape.
•  Risk assessment including offensive security testing, vulnerability analysis and security configuration reviews.
•  Operational Technology security design and control implementation.
