General Requirements
- Waste Water Treatment service for Amrun and ad-hoc waste water operators for Norther operations (Weipa town & Andoom)
- Management and Personnel: The supplier must provide sufficient management and personnel to ensure the services meet the required standards.
This includes maintaining detailed inspections, routine services, certifications, and providing 24-hour breakdown support.
Qualifications:
- Operators must have a Cert 3 in water operations, a minimum of five years of experience in the water and wastewater treatment industry, relevant immunizations (Hepatitis A/B, tetanus, and polio), and relevant high-risk licenses (e.g., working at heights, confined space, forklift).
Compliance:
- The supplier must adhere to various Australian and international standards, including health and safety regulations, plumbing codes, and electrical installation standards.
Water Treatment Plants
- Operation and Maintenance: The supplier is responsible for operating and maintaining both permanent and temporary water treatment plants to produce potable water that meets Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.
- Testing and Reporting: Daily operation reports, schedules, and criteria for testing must be submitted to Rio Tinto. Monthly performance reports and participation in review meetings are required.
Waste Water Treatment Plants
- Safety and Quality: The supplier must provide all necessary personal protective equipment and safety certifications. Effluent quality must meet specified criteria, and immediate action is required if standards are not met.
- Inspection and Documentation: Daily inspections and parameter logs must be maintained and submitted. The supplier must also collect samples for off-site testing as directed by Rio Tinto.
Additional Responsibilities
- Potable and Non-Potable Water Systems: The supplier is responsible for inspection, testing, and reporting for all potable water systems. Non-potable water sources may also require monitoring and sample collection.
- Training and Personnel Management: The supplier must ensure all personnel are adequately trained and vaccinated. Coverage for annual leave and holiday periods must be provided, and the supplier must adhere to specified working hours and crew change protocols.
- Waste Disposal and Spares: Waste disposal is excluded from the contract and will be handled by an external party. The supplier must maintain minimum quantities of spare parts and submit details for approval.
Northern Operations Ad-Hoc Personnel
- Operations and Maintenance: Operators will conduct operations and maintenance on various water and wastewater assets, including activated sludge bioreactors, membrane filtration units, oxiditch, biocycles, and dosing plants.
Reporting and Performance
- Weekly and Monthly Reports: The supplier must provide weekly and monthly reports detailing health, safety, environmental data, maintenance activities, emergency call-outs, and cost summaries.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Performance will be measured against KPIs related to safety, operational quality, and financial strength. Continuous improvement plans must be developed and implemented.
Asset Management
- Support and Consultation: The supplier must provide asset management support, including detailed analysis, planning, and scheduling of maintenance work.
- Database Maintenance: The supplier must maintain a comprehensive asset database, including details of all assets, maintenance work, and spend per asset.
