Cairns Regional Council invites quotations from suitably qualified respondents for the design and documentation of the Cairns Community and Multicultural Centre as described further in Part 5 Scope.

The Centre will form part of Council's network of community activity spaces and fulfil a broader regional role, by providing fit for purpose and culturally appropriate spaces to support the growing multicultural community in Cairns. The Centre design brief prioritised the findings from the community and stakeholder engagement which identified flexible and multipurpose spaces and integrating indoor and outdoor spaces.

The consultant is likely to have successfully undertaken similar works in the recent past. The consultant will be required to complete a Concept design of the works followed by preliminary and detailed designs. Design documentation shall be packaged to the 100% design for a traditional construct only delivery method (where full detailed plans, specifications and schedules will be required) to enable Council to tender and construct the works by suitably experienced contractors.

The consultancy process will require effective communication, approval management, workshop and presentations, compliance with project milestones and construction support throughout the project life. The consultant will be required to resolve any design or documentation inconsistencies or errors that may arise during the design, tender and construction phases at no additional cost to Council.
