Scope of work

The scope of work involves:

Provision of qualified personnel (approx 6-7 months; during the growth period) to conduct weed control trials at Rio Tinto Weipa North Operations & The supply of 2 LV/buggy/ATV fitted with dual spray units daily that comply with standards and allow for herbicide usage tracking will be required.

The work involves treating Gamba grass primarily. Control of Leucaena, Mission Grass, Sickle Pod and other weeds will also be a requirement. The collection of data is a key requirement of this scope.

• The personnel must be suitably qualified as described in the Agricultural Chemicals Control Act 1966 including ACDC licence and as required by Rio Tinto Standards.
• The personnel will participate in daily meetings, conduct equipment inspections, complete risk assessments, and ensure proper use of PPE.
• Follow procedures for herbicide application, travel safely across the Weipa Northern Operation, maintain weed hygiene practices, assist in controlled burn programs and other land management activities.
