Kimbriki Environmental Enterprises receives Scrap Metal from Customers as well as recovering Scrap Metal from mixed waste received on Site. The recovered Scrap Metal is a mixture of bulky items mechanically removed from mixed waste (white goods, bed frames etc.) and a small proportion (approx. 4%) is mattress springs recovered from mattress shredding operations. Both of these are combined with the Scrap Metal brought in by Customers and stored temporarily at the Drop Off Area awaiting collection.

KEE receives volumes of 20 to 30 tonnes from up to 110 customers per day during peak periods which, when combined with material recovered on Site, generates an average of approximately 115 tonnes per week. A total of 5,450 tonnes were generated in FY2023/24.

The Services will require the Contractor to collect and transport this Metal to an approved Processing Facility(s) that will sort and recycle Metals whilst maintaining the stockpile at KEE at the lowest level possible.
