Tender Description
The Narromine Shire is located to the west of Dubbo, in the Orana region of New South Wales.
Covering 5,224 square kilometres, the Shire includes the major rural centre of Narromine, as well as Trangie and Tomingley. With nearly 7,000 residents, the area has a wealth of heritage, history and towns that feature:
- Easy access to a regional centre
- Picturesque setting
- Close community connections.
The Department of Planning in conjunction with the Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) development, has updated population projections based on the REZ projects and available information regarding other large projects such as the Inland Rail and Tomingley Gold development. The predictions made as a result of combining these projects see an overall population increase of approximately 450 people through to 2032.
The Narromine region has a strong agricultural base, with mining at the southern end of the Shire also a large employer. Government Services also employs a large number of people, as does the retail sector through Narromine and Trangie.
Narromine and Trangie townships enjoy vibrant main streets, local industry, government services, local schools and many other amenities.
Narromine Shire Council is seeking suitably qualified and experienced organisations or individuals to manage the operations of the Narromine Aquatic Centre and the Trangie Aquatic Centre over a three (3) year period with an option to extend for two (2) x one (1) year periods depending on the performance of the successful Contractor. Narromine Shire Council is the Principal for the contract. Details including expected length of season, opening hours, minimum standards, facilities description and expectations are all outlined in the following document.
The management of these pools has been contracted successfully for the past five years, with much of this experience now incorporated in the Tender being offered.
