The City of Marion is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from both community and commercial organisations interested in sub-leasing the café space at the Marino Community Hall, located at 44 Newland Avenue, Marino.

The site is currently under construction with an estimated completion date in June 2025.

Marino Hall is a vibrant community hub managed by the Marino Hall Committee of Management Inc., featuring a range of versatile activity spaces, a stunning gallery, and a café area with optional seating arrangements. We're offering a great opportunity for a passionate café operator, whether you're just starting out or looking to expand your existing operations.

With some of the fit-out costs already covered, you'll have the perfect foundation to bring your vision to life in a space that’s designed for community connection and creativity. Potential applicants should note that there are currently no cooking facilities within this space, however, provisioning has been made for services in the wall between the café and the adjacent storeroom, which may allow for additional fit-out considerations to be negotiated.

EOIs will be accepted from community groups and commercial organisations that can demonstrate eligibility by meeting the relevant criteria set out in the Council’s Leasing and Licensing of Council-Owned Facilities Policy.

EOI applicants should show that their proposed operation aligns well with the existing facilities and proposed activities at the Marino Community Hall. Additionally, the proposed café operation will need to consider how it interacts with facility users and the local community.

Initially, any agreement will be offered as a 2-year sub-lease from the Marino Hall Committee of Management Inc to align with their initial head lease of the facility.

The City of Marion may seek further information from shortlisted applicants after the EOI closing date to assist with determining the successful applicant/s who will be selected in consultation with the hall committee.
