Tender Description

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) requires suitably experienced & qualified supplier to undertake civil works to reduce the geotechnical risks to road users at the site– Elliott Way 27.5km.

Project goals

Please refer to the RFT documents

Scope

The main steps involved in this remediation option are outlined below:

  •  Provide works methodology, program, WHS and environmental plans for the works.
  •  Mobilise to the site and establish safety and environmental controls.
  •  Implement intermittent lane closures along this section of Elliott Way to ensure safe access for earthmoving and excavation equipment.
  • Follow any environmental regulations and obtain necessary approvals for vegetation removal or trimming that may be required to complete the works.
  •  Use a large excavator with an extended reach to access and reshape the upslope cutting face.
  •  Trim back the rock face, removing semi-detached blocks, loose materials, and hazardous features identified during the site inspection.
  •  Excavate and enlarge the existing table drain, positioned at the toe of the slope.
  •  The table drain is to be sufficiently sloped to divert water effectively, preventing erosion and reducing saturation that could destabilise the slope.
  •  Implement erosion control measures, such as hydroseeding or applying erosion matting to the trimmed slope, where feasible (and in known drainage paths), to encourage vegetation regrowth and minimise surface erosion.
  •  Clean site and demobilise.
