The Kaiwaka Footpath Development aims to enhance connectivity and accessibility by addressing severance caused by the state highway and rivers. A key component of this initiative is the integration of two footbridges into a continuous, accessible pathway for pedestrians, cyclists, and wheelchair users.

The Southern footbridge, located on the western side of Kaiwaka, crosses the Kaiwaka River and links Oneriri Road with key local destinations such as Eutopia Cafe and the Cheese Shop. The Northern footbridge connects Kaiwaka Township with McClean Park and Coffee Pot to the north.

This project focuses on linking these two bridges through the development of an interconnecting footpath, significantly improving access and mobility within the area.
