Scope of work

'Rio Tinto requires a supplier to complete earthworks, concrete, bitumen, electrical and mechanical works involved with:

1. The removal from service and disposal of two underground tanks 1x14kl in service Diesel tank and 1x 20kl previously decommissioned tank.

2. The installation of a new 55kL Tank complete with new pumping and dispensary equipment system.

The existing tanks are at the end of their serviceable life and require replacement and decommissioning.

This is a design and construct scope of works.

The upgrade will include but is not limited to:

1. Civil

- Thorough investigation of proposed work area for existing services using non-destructive excavation to pothole down to and locate all services in the area.

- Design and install plinths for 55KL fuel tank.

- Excavate and install new vehicle fuelling pad with containment sumps and raised concrete to create bunded area for fuelling.

- Install bollards and area guard rails in concrete slab for vehicle access and asset protection.

- Reinstate tank excavation and all other excavated areas necessary for the works and reinstate asphalt.

2. Electrical

- Excavate and install all associated electrical and comms conduits for fuel bowser, fob bowser activation screen, tank level transmitters, Sump fill sensors and area lighting.

- Run conduits from existing switchboards to new DB Board for the LV fuelling pad.

- Design and supply new DB board for comms and power.

- Install new DB Boards and terminate all electrical and comms.

- Commissioning and testing. Energisation, programming system, testing and commissioning of all works.

3. Mechanical

- Design procure and install all pumps, valving, pipework and bowsers necessary.

- Procure diesel tank and fuel bowsers including testing and inspection off site prior to mobilisation to site by RTIO Itinerant Plant Inspectors.

- Supply and install 55KL fuel tank.

- Safety shower fuel logon bay and other auxiliary equipment.

4. Deconstruction and Disposal

- Decommission old fuel bowsers and fuel Tank, confirm decommissioning of old fuel station.

- Tank disposal to be in accordance with AS4976 - The removal and disposal of underground petroleum storage tanks.

- 3rd Part testing of ground and excavation of soil.

Additional Scopes

In addition to the above the 6M Fuel Facility will require the addition of another LV/HV bowser & the 7M fuel facility will require decommissioning, as per the above decommissioning of the PPT Fuel Facility.
