Tender Description
Ipswich City Council (Council) covers an area of 1,090 square kilometres with a population of approximately 190,000 people. Council is responsible for a range of services and facilities in the local area and owns and manages over 7000 hectares of Bushland Reserves, Riparian Areas and Conservation Estates including White Rock Spring Mountain and Flinders Goolman Conservation Estates as part of its Natural Area Network (NAN).
Council provides and manages these natural assets on behalf of ICC residents and the wider community for flora, fauna and cultural heritage conservation, research, and for a variety of nature-based recreation activities including hiking, mountain bike riding, horse riding and bird watching.
Under the direction of the Ipswich Enviroplan Program, the Nature Conservation Strategy, Waterway Health Strategy and the Natural Area Estate Asset/Landscape Maintenance Standards ICC undertakes programmed maintenance across the networks and delivers additional annual programs such as:
• Conservation Works Program
• Fire Management Program
• Habitat Connections Program
• Capital Works Program
