Southern Cross University invites Requests For Tender ("RFT") for the Servicing and Maintenance of Fume Cupboards at each campus location.

The successful Contractor must provide all labour, management, materials, equipment, overheads and profit associated with the delivery of the requirements as specified under the Contract.

The Contract is a:

a) an annual lump sum per building at each campus; and

b) a schedule of labour rates for adhoc services.

General Scope of Services

The work to be carried out shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following general activities:

• regular and regulatory inspection, servicing and maintenance of fire protection systems in accordance with AS/NZS 2243.8 – 2006 Safety in Laboratories – Fume Cupboards; AS 1807.15 – Illuminance Testing and AS 1807.20 – Sound Testing.

• Cleaning of all scrubbers at 6 monthly intervals, including tank drains, cleaning and float mechanisms testing.

• Cleaning of all fume cupboards internally at 6 monthly intervals

• development of service schedules for all six monthly and annual tests, reviewed and approved by the University.

• Providing a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice for site attendance.

• maintain and provide reports for all servicing and maintenance works.

• minimise the need for callouts by effecting minor repairs and maintenance during scheduled visits.

• review and advise the Contract Manager on recommended cost-saving upgrade initiatives.

• undertake maintenance/repair works in response to breakdowns, callouts etc., upon request by the Contract Manager.

• maintain asset registers for each campus location.

• prepare and provide annual condition reports.
