Central Coast Council owns and manages a transfer station and an inert landfill site situated at Lobster Creek Road, Ulverstone, known as the Resource Recovery Centre (RRC).
The site currently handles putrescible waste via transfer to Dulverton Waste facility, inert waste disposed to landfill, as well as green waste, recyclables, e-waste, tubes and globes, gas cylinders, oils, paint, scrap metal, whitegoods, cardboard, mattresses ,and other minor waste streams. A tip shop operates out of the site, managed by an independent not-for-profit.
A Masterplan for the RRC was developed in 2023 by MRA Consulting.
The Council is seeking tender submissions from suitably qualified engineering consultants to provide detailed design and drawings, cost estimation, specifications, contract documentation, and assistance with construction management for the various components of the master plan. These components include overall site civil works, a covered resource recovery building, weighbridges including a tollbooth, and a conveyor/compactor system for transferred waste.
