ForestrySA has a commercial interest in optimising forest growth and future log supply to customers. Achieving optimal plantation establishment outcomes is a key strategy to achieving this commercial objective.

Planting is one of the most important forest operations because the quality of the work influences the pattern of development of the plantation throughout the rotation.

Primary planting objectives are to achieve:

1. optimal establishment stocking
2. optimal initial seedling growth and
3. Exercise sound control of planting costs.

This tender is for the provision of highly critical Planting Services to be delivered to ForestrySA by an external supplier(s).

There is potential for more than one supplier to be engaged for these services. ForestrySA is therefore providing the opportunity for suppliers to tender for single, multiple or all planting areas.

The proposed strategy is to engage in a longer-term standing offer Agreement of 2 years (2025 and 2026) with one or more suppliers. An extension option of 1 year is proposed, noting that planting and refill parameters are unknown for 2027.
