This Request for Proposal is for the implementation of DFSV Health Assist service which provide trauma informed place-based healthcare to women and children escaping domestic and family violence and living in refuges, with a focus on migrant women and children and those on precarious visas.
About the RFP
Central and Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network (CESPHN) invites suitable general practices or health centres accredited by Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited to submit a Request for Proposal (RFP) to support the delivery of the place-based
Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV) Health Assist service for women and children living in select refuges within the CESPHN region, with a focus on migrant women and children and those on precarious visas.
DFSV Health Assist is part of the Supporting Outreach Healthcare for Victim-Survivors of Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence Pilot (The Pilot) funded by Department of Health and Aged Care (DoHAC). The service will offer migrant women and children and those on precarious visas in select refuges free health screening, health assessments, health care and referrals to specialist services where needed. The placed-based health screenings, assessments and health care will be provided by a Nurse Practitioner with the support of a GP. A newly established co-ordinator role will co-ordinate appropriate referrals to specialist services.
Suitable applicants must have at least one general practitioner in employment and the capacity to recruit and manage a Nurse Practitioner and a Coordinator. The practice must be located within the CESPHN catchment area and have demonstrable experience in providing trauma-informed outreach healthcare to women and children impacted by domestic and family violence and working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities. Private and not-for-profit health services are welcome to apply.
The Pilot will commence from date of contract execution and will last for two years. The proposed timeframe is currently July 2025-2027.
