Background & General Information
King Island Council (the Council) invites tenders from Tenderers for the provision of cleaning services at the King Island Airport (the Services). The Council will enter into a Contract for Services with the successful Tenderer
Services required include general daily cleaning and periodic deep cleaning of the terminal and nominated outbuildings at the King Island Airport, including public toilets, departure lounge, baggage collection area, baggage handling area and office spaces, located at 102 Morrison Avenue, Loorana TAS 7256. The Supplier to provide all required cleaning materials and consumables, excluding toilet paper, hand soap, paper towel, and bin liners. Initial contract term of 3 years with 2 options to extend by a period of 12 months at Council’s discretion.
Scope of Work
Provision of commercial cleaning services at the King Island Airport including passenger terminal, Airport Reporting Officers’ office and outdoor area immediately around the passenger terminal. It also includes ad hoc cleaning of the house in the airport precinct.
Appendix A provides a layout of the airport precinct highlighting the relevant areas to be cleaned.
Regular scheduled works
The tasks listed at Appendix B must be carried out in accordance with the schedule agreed between Council’s representative and the Supplier at the time of contract execution. This includes the time of day all tasks are carried out. That schedule can be varied upon agreement by both parties, with any variations to be confirmed in writing (including email), for example to accommodate additional works requested by Council’s representative. The airport’s standard operating hours are 7:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 1:00pm Saturday, and 11:00am to 5:00pm Sunday.
Ad hoc works
From time to time, the Supplier will be asked to complete ad hoc cleaning tasks, for example an additional clean of the terminal building after an event. These ad hoc tasks will be requested in writing by Council’s representative with, wherever possible, no less than two days’ prior notice.
Council’s representative will provide a written description of the scope of works to be completed and request a quote based on the Supplier’s agreed schedule of rates. Council’s representative must provide written acceptance of that quote before the works commence.
Term of contract
This contract will be for a term of three (3) years, with two options to extend by a period of 12 months at Council’s discretion
