We are seeking to engage a contractor to plant a total of up to 490,000 native trees over approximately 70 hectares of recently harvested pine forest as part of our forest regeneration project in the Hūnua Ranges. Trees will be planted directly into the cutover of the pine harvest. The plants will be provided by Watercare Services Ltd.

The Hūnua Regeneration Project is one of the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere and ultimately leads to a fully protected native catchment for some of Auckland’s largest water supply dams. By improving the quality of our catchments and minimizing the risk of erosion or landslips we are securing the highest quality of water for the future generations of Auckland.
