Tender Description

Port Stephens Council is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from Worimi artists to create impactful artwork to contribute to its new Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Engagement Framework.

This significant document, developed in close consultation with Aboriginal stakeholders from Worimi Country, will serve as a guiding framework for Council's ongoing commitment to reconciliation and honouring Aboriginal people.

The selected artwork will be thoughtfully integrated into the design of the framework document, acting as a powerful visual representation of the Worimi Traditional Owners and their deep connection to Country.

This initiative underscores Council's dedication to ensuring that its decisions and projects reflect respect for Aboriginal culture and actively empower Aboriginal people by safeguarding their Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP).

The development of the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Engagement Framework is a key step in Council's ongoing cultural competency journey. Port Stephens is rich in Aboriginal history and culture, with numerous sites and stories that hold profound significance for the local Aboriginal communities.

Worimi artists interested in contributing their creative talents to this significant project are encouraged to submit an EOI outlining their artistic vision and relevant experience.
