Mount Isa City Council invites tenders from suitably qualified tenderers for the provision of shared path construction.

This project is the continuation of construction of the Principal Cycle Network (PCN) on Fourth Avenue, Parkside QLD 4825. Fourth Avenue has been identified important cycling priority route connecting the suburb of Parkside to Mount Isa CBD. The construction scope of this project will implement significant safety improvements for pedestrians and cyclists. Separable Portion 2 of the design joins to Separable Portion 1 at Setout Point 2047 and terminates at the culvert on Fourth Avenue at Setout Points 2406 and 2407.

The existing 1.8m wide footpaths along Fourth Avenue will be upgraded to nominal 2.5m wide and 100mm thick shared paths based on current IPWEA (Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia) standards, along with associated safety improvements such as linemarking, intersection upgrades tactile ground surface indicators (TGSI) and new signage installation.

In addition to the construction of Fourth Avenue PCN Separable Portion 2, specific provisional sum items of work include the following:

• Nineteenth Avenue footpath construction – approximately 36.6 lineal meters plus one driveway crossover outside the Family Day Care.

• Gap filling between Fourth Avenue Separable Proportion 1 Setout Points 2002 to 2023.
