The Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics on behalf of the Australian National University has identified the requirement for an optical communications modem assembly, also referred to as a QOGS Modem, to support its free space optical communication activities.

An optical modem assembly is required to support free space laser communication research while complying with optical communication standards, ensuring compatibility with future space missions equipped with optical communication technology.

The modem is to be delivered and installed to the Australian National University Mt Stromlo Observatory in Canberra, Australia.

Provision of an optical modem assembly complying with the requirements is outlined in this tender.
