David Fleay Wildlife Park Flood Mitigation
Tender ID: 581805
Tender Details
Tender Description
The Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships, is looking to engage a suitably qualified company to complete stage 1 of a flood mitigation project, as per the Bligh Taner David Fleay wildlife park – flood mitigation 17 March 2023 report.
The site has received several high-level rain events which have highlighted the flooding problems across the park. This has resulted in greater damage to the site than what would otherwise be acceptable if effective flood mitigation measures where implemented. This document outlines the works to be carried out and the design plans for works. This has been broken into four main mitigation measures so that construction can be planned and effectively implemented:
1. Swale / Berm construction from Kabool Drainage point to main park drain
2. Kobool road carpark traffic calming installation
3. Cassowary enclosure swale and bund wall installation
4. Internal cassowary enclosure plantings
