Tender Description
The Opportunity
Following the 2020 Queensland Rail Engage survey, Southeast Queensland (SEQ) has committed annually to improving the way information is shared with employees across its geographically dispersed business. To support this, SEQ has worked with ICT to progressively install LCD screens at key locations to distribute and display information around Queensland Rail sites.
• Phase 1 (2015): 29 digital screens installed at traincrew depots and the Rail Management Centre (RMC)
• Phase 2 (October 2021): 20 digital screens installed at SEQ depots and worksites
• Phase 3 (February 2022): 6 digital screens installed at Regional worksites
• Phase 4 (November 2022): 20 screens installed at SEQ depots and worksites
The Digital Display solution is an important communication channel for a largely operational workforce of more than 5,000 employees who have limited access to technology such as computers and smartphones.
There is a potential opportunity to expand this footprint further by installing an additional 19 screens at train station office buildings across the SEQ rail network. There is also a potential opportunity to integrate the systems/screens in Queensland Rail’s head office buildings in Brisbane’s CBD. You can find the estimated requirements in the tender documents.
To manage the publication of digital content to screens located at key SEQ worksites, SEQ has a contract in place with an external Service Provider utilising the Navori digital signage platform.
Business Outcome Required: Queensland Rail is seeking to review digital display signage market solutions to ensure communication and information sharing requirements continue to be met now and into the future.
Project Scope
Queensland Rail is seeking a comprehensive, end-to-end digital display signage solution encompassing:
1. Hardware – given the presence of existing hardware infrastructure, Queensland Rail may consider either a complete replacement solution or a gradual phase-out of aging components over time.
2. Software to support dynamic content delivery, operational flexibility, and integration with current systems.
3. Maintenance and support including on-site support, off-site support and maintenance for hardware and software.
4. Project Implementation – the selected vendor is expected to implement the project in strict adherence to Queensland Rail’s Project Management Framework.
