Project goals

The outputs include the following:

1. Stakeholder Identification: Identify relevant stakeholders in 5 regions (Hunter, Central West, Illawarra Shoalhaven, South East, Riverina Murray) and deliver an engagement plan.

2. Culturally Appropriate Engagement: Facilitate engagement based on the plan, with RA staff attending.

3. Engagement Report: Document consultation findings in a report.

4. Engagement Guidance Document

Define roles for Traditional Owners, Aboriginal knowledge holders, and scientists in regional DAP steering committees.
Include principles and values for effective engagement.
Recommend methods to increase Aboriginal participation in DAP governance.
Propose methods for Aboriginal community participation throughout the DAP process.
Provide guidance on messaging the value of a DAP.
Consider involving Local Aboriginal Land Councils in Local Emergency Management Committees.
