Hydro Tasmania is seeking the replacement of one, three phase generator power transformer (strategic spare - T2) currently stored at Bastyan Power Station. The transformer is expected to be utilised at any of the major West Coast power stations (Tribute, John Butters, Bastyan and Reece), excluding Macintosh.

The scope includes:

- Design

- Manufacture

- Quality assurance

- Factory acceptance testing

- Supply

- Delivery to nominated storage site

- Site inspection and tests (SAT)

- Supply of documentation in accordance with item 4.3b Drawings and Information.

The four West Coast power stations have three phase transformers assigned to a single machine. At this stage, this system spare transformer may be stored at Gowrie Park, Tullah, Bastyan PS or alternatively at another site that is yet to be determined. Alternatively, when the transformer is ready, it may need to be installed at a power station immediately. The site or power station, when determined, will be modified in preparation for the new transformer.

The boundary of the contract scope shall be:

- Supply of the 220kV/13.8kV Transformer.

- Delivery to the site specified by Hydro Tasmania.

- Long Term Offline storage advice with respect to the maintenance and preservation activities/routines.
