Tender Description
Liverpool Plains Shire Council is seeking tenders from appropriately qualified and experienced organisation for the Design and Construction of a two-lane bridge over the Yarraman Creek on Coonabarabran Road to improve road traffic access during wet weather events.
Design Scope of Works
Coonabarabran Road is classified as a main road; the bridge design is to comply with 100-year design life and compliant to AS 5100 (2017) Bridge Design. The Contractor must design and construct the bridge to safely support loadings that exceed SMS1600 standards, particularly for vehicles up to 130 tonnes and 60 meters in length, including triple and quad road trains, B-triples, PBS Level 3 and 4 vehicles, and HML configurations. The design must be certified to meet these requirements by a qualified structural engineer. Additional Technical Directions are defined in TS 01954_0.00_TfNSW Services Bridge Technical Direction, and TfNSW Bridge and Structure Technical Standards. Structural Design is to consider findings from studies already completed for the affected area with design identifying the type of bridge, the cross fall, and primary materials required to construct the bridge. Geometric Design is to identify the deck length and width, height, and span length.
Liverpool Plains Shire Council may elect to pass over a tender from a tenderer that does not demonstrate the capacity to systematically plan and manage the quality of its work in accordance with the NSW Government Quality management guidelines (Construction Procurement) (Edition 4), available on the Buy.nsw website.
