Tender Description

The City of Cockburn (The Principal) requires the services of a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to supply and install new boiler(s) and the removal and dispose of the existing boiler(s) to ensure the facility heating requirements are appropriately maintained and presented in line with this specification and the Principals expectations.

Indicative tasks to be completed in order to replace the boiler(s) include, but are not limited to:

  •  Removal of existing roof structure
  •  Crane work
  •  Disconnect and lock out natural gas and electrical components.
  •  Drain system if necessary, or isolate water system.
  •  Disconnect hot water piping, drains and stack connections.
  •  Removal of any connections that will not be required by the resulting system.
  •  Remove and proper disposal of current boiler(s)
  •  Position new boiler(s) in footprint of old boiler and level as necessary
  •  Install any new valves as needed.
  •  Reconnect water piping, drains and stack connections.
  •  Insulate piping as needed.
  •  Reconnect natural gas and electrical connections (including pumps)
  •  Provide and install new emergency stop switch next to door.
  •  Connect new boiler(s) to existing controls.
  •  Fill system as necessary
  •  Start system and confirm functionality.
  •  Calibrate and/or program any necessary components.
  •  Test all safety devices.
  •  Replace roof structure.

All existing building services not affected by this work shall be protected and where necessary, maintained operational during and after any required demolition work.

All work shall be executed to the satisfaction of the Principal in strict accordance with the Contract, the Specification, the Schedule of Rates and with any working instructions provided by the Principal as the service proceeds.

The Specification is to be read in the context it is written and will be the basis upon which the Contractor is to achieve an acceptable standard and level of service.

The Contract is expected to commence in January 2025.

Mandatory Site Briefing:

Attendance at this meeting is mandatory.

Failure to attend this briefing will render the Tenderer ineligible to submit a Tender.

Tenderers are required to attend a Tender briefing on:

Thursday, 28 November 2024 from 10:00am/om to 11:00am (AWST)

The location of the meeting is at:

  •  Cockburn Aquatic & Recreation Centre (Cockburn ARC), 31 Veterans Parade, Cockburn Central, WA 6164

The briefing will provide Tenderers with the opportunity to clarify any uncertainties with the Principal prior to the closing of the Tender.

All attendees will be required to sign an acknowledgement register of attendance

SPECIAL NOTE:

  • Tenderers are required to address all requirements as outlined in the request;
  • Please ensure that you fully read and understand the Conditions provided on the Conditions of Participation tab and in ALL documentation provided;
  • Failure to comply shall deem your submission non-compliant; and
  • Compliance to the Modern Slavery Act 2018 and when requested be able to provide a Modern Slavery Statement as required by the Act
