Tender Description

Northern Peninsular Area Regional Council (NPARC) is accepting Expressions of Interest from approved Building Contractors for Tender Proposals: Construction of New Mapoon Multi-Purpose Facility Improvements. RPS AAP Consulting Pty Ltd (RPS) has been engaged by the Northern Peninsular Area Regional Council (NPARC) as Project Managers for the New Mapoon Multi-Purpose Facility Improvements.

The Contractor will be required to complete the works in accordance with the Contract documentation provided as part of the tender documentation package.

The Contractor shall carry out all construction and refurbishment work necessary to complete the works in accordance with this PPR, including all other documents annexed to this PPR and the Contract. A broad overview of the tasks to be completed are mentioned as follows.

New Mapoon Multi-Purpose Facility Improvement is located at 7 Parry Street, New Mapoon, Queensland, 4876.

The scope of works includes:

• Enclosing the existing building to provide enclosed area for post cyclone refuge.

• Secure the building to prevent unauthorised access when the facility is not in use and extend stormwater drainage away from the building.

• Install task specific lighting, natural and mechanical ventilation (Big Ass Fans) to adequately ventilate the MPF.

• General clean of the existing facilities (i.e. MPF, kitchen, office and amenities).

• Remove graffiti and paint from equipment store, provide new lockable roller door with external padlocks.

• Commission new kitchen cooking facilities, office, security systems, sports facilities, toilets and supporting water, electrical and sewer infrastructure. Queensland State Government funding commitment to upgrade the New Mapoon Multi-Purpose Facility (MPF) to meet cyclone standards and accommodate over 500 people with associated infrastructure and facilities ensuring a designated cyclone shelter or place of refuge significantly enhancing community safety during disaster events.

The Project is to be completed by June 2025 for the facilities to be available for the community.
