Project goals
The objective of the Modern Methods Construction Guidance is to provide contemporary information relating to modern methods of construction including lessons learned from recent approaches across Australia and New Zealand.
Scope
Additional information will be gathered regarding examples of MMC relating to modular construction (soft and hard modular), precast, volumetric / modular construction, flat slab, twin wall and so forth. The impact of the geographical distance between where goods are manufactured and used, and the associated transport requirements, as well as the impact of the differences in economies of scale between larger and smaller health regions, will also be considered.
Proposed Consultant Scope:
- Attend progress meetings with the AHIA/AusHFG Team.
- Review current jurisdictional approaches to MMC - 1 x 1 hour meeting with individual AHIA jurisdictions.
- Undertake research relating to MMC.
- Develop the draft guidance document.
- Facilitate combined Working Group meetings with representatives from all jurisdictions to review the draft guidance document and determine key recommendations relating to MMC - 2 x 2 hour meetings.
- Develop the final guidance document for review by AHIA members.
- Address final feedback prior to finalisation of the document in preparation for publication on the AusHFG website
