Murray River Council is currently undertaking designs for the proposed upgrades of two levee embankments in Moulamein.

As part of the project, Council is inviting Expressions of Interest from local landowners for potential borrow pit sites which contain material with a high clay content. Borrow pits with compliant clayey material will be used to source construction material during the levee upgrades. An estimated 1,500 to 2,000 cubic metres of material will be required.

Testing

Geotechnical investigation teams appointed by Council’s design consultants, Dryside Engineering, will require access to the shortlisted properties to conduct tests and collect samples from potential borrow sites.

Tests for the materials are scheduled to take place in December 2024 or January 2025.
